Affiliate Disclosure
Transparency is important to us: We participate in affiliate programs, which means we may earn a commission if you click on a link to a partner's website and then make a purchase. This comes at no additional cost to you.
What this means for you:
Our recommendations are not driven by commissions: We strive to recommend products and services based on their quality and potential value to you, regardless of whether we earn a commission.
Price is unaffected: Clicking an affiliate link will not change the price you pay for a product or service.
Assume some links are affiliate links: While we try to identify affiliate links explicitly, it's safest to assume that any link leading to an external product or service could be an affiliate link.
We appreciate your support: Using our affiliate links helps support the running of this website, allowing us to continue creating content for you.
Common Commission Models:
Pay-Per-Sale (PPS): This is the most common model. You earn a commission when a user clicks your affiliate link and completes a purchase on the merchant's website. Commissions are often a percentage of the sale price.
Pay-Per-Lead (PPL): You get paid when a user clicks your link and completes a desired action on the merchant's site. This action could be filling out a form, signing up for a trial, downloading content, or making an inquiry.
Pay-Per-Click (PPC): You earn a small commission for each click on your affiliate link, even if it doesn't result in a sale or lead. PPC commissions are usually very low compared to other models.
Recurring Commission: You earn a recurring commission as long as the referred customer remains subscribed to a service or continues to purchase. This model is common with subscription-based products or software.
Less Common, but Still Used:
Pay-Per-Impression (PPI): You get paid a tiny amount based on the number of times your affiliate ad or link is displayed (impressions). This is often seen in display advertising.
Pay-Per-Install (PPI): Used for promoting apps and software. You earn a commission when someone installs a program through your link.
Pay-Per-Call: You earn a commission when a lead generated through your link results in a phone call to the merchant.
Important Notes:
Variation within models: Commission rates and specific terms within these models can vary wildly between merchants.
Hybrid models: Some affiliate programs might blend different commission models.
